HDPE and Fusible C900 Pipe

We are proud to use Canadian-made Poly-Fusion high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and Fusible C900 pipe in our projects because of its versatility. It is a lightweight and flexible fusible pipe that allows for continuous linking. Since these types of pipes are often used underneath the water table during underground pipework, it is important that outside contaminants cannot infiltrate them. The fused pipe is also more resistant to breaking, especially under pressure.

When you choose Ironman Directional Drilling, you choose a company with over 25 years of experience using the best durable and cost-effective materials. Our highly trained workers provide long-lasting results on your project that will stand the test of time. Our technicians have worked in all sorts of conditions and can provide a safe and reliable product no matter the condition of the land.

Types of Underground Pipe Work

Not all types of underground pipework are the same. At Ironman Directional Drilling, we can service or install the following:

Water Supply Pipes

Using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) to install water supply lines helps avoid road disruptions, sidewalk disruptions, and landscaping disruptions. Low-impact drilling ensures minimal surface disturbance, reducing the need for expensive excavation or site restoration.

Irrigation Pipes

Installing these pipes with HDD minimizes soil and vegetation disturbances, preserving the landscape. We offer low-impact drilling to lay irrigation pipes without trenching, ensuring a clean and efficient process while maintaining the integrity of your green spaces.

Underground Drainage Pipes

Underground drainage systems direct excess water away from properties, roads, and low-lying areas, preventing flooding and erosion. Traditional excavation methods for drainage systems can be invasive, damaging paved surfaces and natural terrain. HDD allows for low-impact drilling, reducing the environmental footprint while ensuring drainage pipes are correctly aligned.

Sewer Pipes

HDD provides an efficient way to install sewer pipes without open trenching, ensuring safety and reliability. With our low-impact drilling, sewer systems are installed with minimal interference to traffic, sidewalks, or landscaping, making the process cost-effective and environmentally sound.

Installing fibre optic and electrical conduit through HDD ensures secure underground placement without disrupting the surface. This method protects cables from damage, supports faster installation, and reduces the need for open excavation, making it ideal for both urban and rural projects.

Each project is completed in accordance with provincial standards and safety regulations. Our operators and technicians employ advanced low-impact drilling techniques that promote efficient pipe placement while limiting risks associated with ground disturbance. Thanks to our horizontal directional drilling methods, we can do our work with minimal impact on existing structures. We can work under lakes, rivers, railways, hills, etc.

Low-impact Drilling (Horizontal Directional Drilling) Process

Low-impact drilling refers to horizontal or directional drilling methods that minimize disruption to land, vegetation, and waterways. Our process:

Site Assessment

Before beginning any project, we conduct a thorough site assessment. Our team evaluates the soil composition to determine the most suitable drilling method. As part of the assessment, we also identify and mark underground utilities, such as water lines and electrical cables, to prevent damage or service disruptions.

Drilling Process

The drilling process starts with creating a pilot hole. Our skilled operators then carefully steer the drill head along the planned route, making real-time adjustments to maintain precision. Once drilling is complete, installations or construction are carried out within the drilled path.

Post-installation

After the installation, our team carries out a detailed inspection to confirm the quality and performance. This step ensures all equipment is installed correctly and functions according to project specifications. We perform pressure and alignment tests to verify the integrity of the installation.
